Oprah May Have Special Gifts as a Speaker.  But She Honed Those Gifts with Practice.

Ever wonder how Oprah became such a great communicator? It wasn’t by accident.

"I’ve been an orator really, basically all of my life," she said. "Since I was three and a half, I’ve been coming up in the church speaking . . . . I’ve spoken at every church in Nashville at some point in my life.  You sort of get known for that.  Other people were known for singing.  I was known for talking.”

In other words, Oprah is a great communicator because she has had a lot of practice.

Just like Oprah, at Speechworks we believe that the key to becoming a great communicator is through practice.  And in our workshops, we give you plenty of opportunity to practice on camera.  We then give you feedback from a coach.

All of our programs focus on two areas:

  • How to organize a message that is simple and focuses on audience needs. Speechworks teaches a simple Formula for focusing on listener needs.  We believe that if you have strong content, you will be more confident when you get up to speak.
  • How to deliver the message in a style that connects with the listeners.  We focus on eye contact, gestures, voice energy, and facial energy. Our coaches will give you private feedback on where you most need to improve.

So if you want to be a better speaker, give us a call.  You might become the next Oprah.

Open workshops are held every month at the Speechworks training center in Atlanta.  Call us at 404-266-0888 to learn how we can produce a workshop for your team at your location.  Or check out our website at www.speechworks.net.
