Chicken
tycoon Frank Perdue had never been in a school play before he
took to television with his signature commercials. But he
said he knew that he had to overcome his fear of public speaking if
he was going to promote his business.
Perdue, who
first hit the airwaves with the line “It takes a tough man to
make a tender chicken,” died recently at the age of 84.
And while his life is a testimony to many things, from our
perspective at Speechworks he is a fine example of how
learning to connect with people can lead to business success.
At
Speechworks, we can’t guarantee that you’ll become as
successful as Frank Perdue. But we can give you the tools to
help you connect with audiences.
Those tools include the ability to keep your messages
focused on a few key points, speak with passion, and practice
your speech. That’s what we help our clients do in our
programs. All of our programs focus on two areas:
-
How to organize a message that is tight, simple and
focused on audience needs. Speechworks teaches a simple Formula for focusing on
listener needs. We believe that if you have strong content,
you will be more confident when you get up to speak.
-
How to deliver the message in a style that connects
with the listeners. We focus on eye contact, gestures, voice energy, and facial
energy. Our coaches will give you private feedback on where
you most need to improve.
Regardless of
your business, at some level we believe that
you’re selling “chickens.” And we can help you do that
successfully. Give us a call and we can help.
At
Speechworks we help our clients learn how to communicate in a
way that connects and persuades. If you’re interested in
