Want to Learn to Sell Your Business Ideas?  Maybe You Can Learn From Your Dentist!

If you want to learn how to sell an idea, take a tip from the dentist of one of our coach’s sons.  During a recent braces consultation, the dentist passionately told stories about new dental discoveries and how they would help straighten the child’s teeth.

“I’ve never met a dentist who seemed so excited about fixing teeth,” our coach said.  “This guy really seemed to love his job and it came across in his voice and face.  It made me want to switch dentists.  I want him to work on my teeth. But he only does kids. I’m so disappointed.”

"Likeability" is One of the Biggest Keys          To Business Success, Author Says.

When Sony was looking for a new chairman, they had plenty of qualified candidates.  But they shocked the world and picked Howard Stringer, the first ever non-Japanese to run the media giant.  Why?  Because they found him to be the most “likeable”.

That is according to the author of a new book entitled The Likeability Factor.

Want to Sell a Lot of "Chickens"?              Learn to be a Great Public Speaker.

Chicken tycoon Frank Perdue had never been in a school play before he took to television with his signature commercials.  But he said he knew that he had to overcome his fear of public speaking if he was going to promote his business.

Perdue, who first hit the airwaves with the line “It takes a tough man to make a tender chicken,” died recently at the age of 84.  And while his life is a testimony to many things, from our perspective at Speechworks he is a fine example of how learning to connect with people can lead to business success.

Want a Sure Way to Calm Your Nerves?  Rehearse Over and Over and Over and  . . . .

“I don’t know why.  But all of a sudden, I’ve started getting nervous when I speak.  I’ve been speaking for 20 years and I’ve always done fine.  Suddenly, however, nerves have taken over and it is scaring me.”

Those are the words of a senior executive at a Fortune 100 company, who recently asked Speechworks for help in getting over stage fright.

Want to Nail Your Next Big Presentation?    Let Our Coaches Help You Be a Star!

When Henry Ford introduced the Model T, the joke was that you could have your car any color you wanted “Just so long as you want black.”   Unfortunately, most public speaking training is the same.

Most public speaking training takes place in workshops.  But Speechworks is changing that model with Communication Situation Coaching.
