Speechworks has launched a coaching practice
aimed at helping lawyers learn to win and keep clients. The
launch is led by the availability of Joey Asher’s newest book,
“Selling
& Communication Skills for Lawyers, published by ALM
Publishing, a division of American Lawyer Media.
“As the practice of law becomes more
competitive, lawyers need to sell themselves and their ideas
like never before,” said Mr. Asher, President of Speechworks
and an attorney who left corporate practice in 1999. “Our
programs help lawyers win new clients and communicate more
effectively with existing clients.”
Book Makes Lawyers More
Competitive
Connecting more effectively clients is the
focus of “Selling and Communication Skills for Lawyers.”
($29.95, ALM Publishing). “This book focuses on both selling
and communicating because they’re very similar skills,” says
Asher. “Once you can communicate with existing clients
effectively, it’s easy to learn how to win clients. It just
takes a little planning and a few key tactics. This book
helps you do it all.”
Legal Practice Course Offerings
Speechworks offers a broad array of programs
designed to help lawyers become more competitive in the
marketplace.
“Communication Skills for Lawyers” is a two-day
communication skills program that teaches lawyers how to give
client-focused presentations and how to communicate more
effectively impromptu and in meetings. The program is offered
on an open-enrollment basis at Speechworks’s Atlanta offices
and on an in-house basis for specific clients.
“The Client Connection” is a selling skills
program that teaches business development skills and includes
on-going individual and team follow-up to help lawyers execute
business development plans and win business. The program is
offered on an in-house basis for teams within a law firm.
CLE credit is available for all programs.
