Public Speaking Wisdom from Adlai Stevenson.

“It’s hard to lead a cavalry charge if you think you look funny on a horse.”

Those are the words of Adlai Stevenson, Ambassador to the U.N., Governor of Illinois and failed presidential candidate.

What do Stevenson’s words say about public speaking, leadership, and communication?  At Speechworks, we believe that great leaders persuade with personal conviction. You have to believe in what you say.  Or at least you have to sound like you believe it.  Otherwise, no one will follow.

At Speechworks, we teach our clients to lead audiences through conviction.  We teach our clients to connect with audiences by focusing our programs on two areas:

  • How to organize a message that is tight, simple and focuses on audience needs. Speechworks teaches a simple Formula for focusing on listener needs.  We believe that if you have strong content, you will be more confident when you get up to speak.
  • How to deliver the message in a style that connects with the listeners.  We focus on eye contact, gestures, voice energy, and facial energy. Our coaches will give you private feedback on where you most need to improve.

Consider attending an upcoming workshop. We’ll teach you how to communicate like a leader.

At Speechworks we help our clients learn how to communicate in a way that connects and persuades.  If you’re interested in becoming a great communicator give us a call at 404-266-0888 or check out our website at www.speechworks.net
