If you’re using
lots of foul language in the workplace, be careful. A new poll
indicates that two thirds of people are bothered by profanity.
The Associated Press-Ipsos poll also found that profanity is on
the rise with two thirds of Americans believing that the use of bad
words is more common today than 20 years ago.
Other highlights from the poll include:
-
People who make
more than $50,000 a year were more likely than those in lower income
groups to say they encounter profanity.
-
Three-fourths of women said people use profanity more than
they did 20 years ago, while six in 10 men felt that way.
The survey did not
indicate whether the rise in the use of profanity coincides
with the new season of "The Sopranos".
