From LA to NY to Atlanta, Marc Dorfman brings a taste of Hollywood to business communications.
To explain his transition from film producing to communication skills training, Marc likes to say that feature films and business presentations have a lot in common – he points out that both have scripts, actors, and an audience. The biggest difference, Marc says, is that in a business presentation the audience gets to ask the actors questions!
Marc’s training and coaching experience includes corporate, academic, and startup environments. He was a Professor of Communications at NYU/Stern Business School, and the Communication Skills Specialist & Teaching Skills Coach at Columbia Business School, where he earned his MBA in Marketing. Currently, Marc teaches business communications in the MBA program at Georgia Tech.
Marc also spent several years as a marketing consultant in Silicon Valley, and he leverages this experience by helping startups prepare for investor / venture capital pitch competitions. Since 2014, Marc has been the presentation skills coach for the Technology Association of Georgia’s annual startup competition.
During his time in Hollywood, Marc sharpened his skills as a storyteller. His passion for turning mundane ideas into riveting stories helps clients promote their ideas, sell their products, and achieve great outcomes. Most of all, he loves helping speakers prepare for and master those moments!
