The Impromptu Speaker Workshop
Learn the skills to respond in the moment.
This one-day workshop focuses on how to communicate in informal meetings with minimal or no time to prepare. Participants learn strategies to think on their feet and respond in the moment in a manner that connects with the audience, conveys their intended message, and inspires confidence.
Workshop Format Overview
Pre-Workshop
Participants will start with a 20-minute skills-based instructional video. This teaches a simple process and formula that participants can learn to use as a template for creating concise, relevant, and engaging content. They use a practical communication scenario from their job role to create the content they will be using throughout the workshop. Participants send the content they have created to Speechworks coaches who will be teaching their workshop.
Morning Session
Speechworks coaches review each participant’s content they have created and how they applied the process. They will ensure the key aspects of creating messaging that is listener-sensitive and concise are demonstrated.
Afternoon Session
Participants are recorded 2-3 times responding to informal communication scenarios from the other participants and personalized coaching from Speechworks. Part of the process will be to respond to follow-up questions they will receive in the moment.

- Team Workshops tailored to your specific needs for groups of 10, 15, or 20+. Delivered in-person at Speechworks development facility in Atlanta, or at a location of your choosing.
